What We Do

Inward Adventures hosts week and weekend-long, nature-based, group-therapy programs for teens and young adults.

We blend the efficacy of therapeutic care, the playfulness of summer camp, and the grounding elements of wellness retreats to create incredible experiences rooted in real human connection.

Our experiences support personal development, resilience, and emotional intelligence - outside traditional clinical settings - where growth isn’t confined by walls, and neither are you.

Why We Do It

After years of working at adolescent and young adult treatment centers, our founders could no longer tolerate the shortcomings of the mental health system. We repeatedly watched clients struggle to find the adequate support outside of wildly expensive, time consuming, and punitive feeling treatment options - many of which were only accessible once someone had reached a point of crisis.

Despite good intentions and significant investment, many models still rely on these forms of care, in part because it’s what has been the easiest to deliver. And largely, we support the continued growth of access to help. As therapists, we know that office-based talk therapy can be life changing. For many, however, it’s either not enough, or just not the right fit. Most mental health care doesn’t fall short because people aren’t trying - it falls short because it ignores the human need for connection, movement, belonging, and joy. Healing happens through experience and relationship, not just conversation.

Why It Works

Our programs offer a one-of-a-kind alternative to current therapeutic options. With a focus on physical movement, friendship building, tech-free fun, and simplicity, we are able to engage aspects of wellbeing that make attendance feel like a choice rather than a chore.

Our weekends are a jumping off point for continued group support. While the connections start during the weekend away, they continue during our monthly virtual check-in calls that last for 6 months after each trip.

As we see it, there is no time to waste. Mental health statistics continue to decline, treatment costs continue to rise, and the world continues to becoming more difficult to navigate. Join us as we work to create a new revolution in mental health care that is is actually works, is actually fun, and is actually worth the investment.
